Qualification - Teaching or Learning Support qualification

Have you got experience in managing provision for young adults with learning disabilities and high needs?

Manchester Adult Education Service needs to appoint a manager to take responsibility for strategic and operational management for our High Needs provision within MAES.

You will:

  • Manage a small team of teachers and two District Programme Leaders
  • Lead on quality improvement and performance within the curriculum area.
  • Work to ensure targets for recruitment, attendance, retention, and achievement are met whilst managing resources efficiently.
  • Make sure that support is in place for learners progress to positive destinations on the completion of their programme.
  • Develop an offer which delivers significant positive impact for the learners and communities that we serve and leads to positive, measurable outcomes.  

About the Candidate

You will be a qualified teacher with experience of teaching young adults with learning disabilities.
 
You will be familiar with Education and Health Care Planning (EHCP) processes and working in partnership with other professionals and parents and carers to get the best outcomes for young people.
 
You will have experience of curriculum management, quality improvement and development within the special educational needs / high needs area.
