Apprentices and Graduates
Our apprenticeships and graduate schemes offer brilliant opportunities to start building your career with us.
Apprentices
Whether you’re starting your career, looking for a challenge, or just eager for new skills, an apprenticeship could help you work your way into the career you want. Apprenticeships are available all the way up to degree level qualifications, and for all ages.
While some roles are advertised as ‘Apprenticeships,’ all roles can be considered for one if there is a matching qualification, so there are lots of possibilities for staff at any age or level.
Apprenticeships let you combine your current job with part-time learning. You’ll earn impressive qualifications, new skills and improve your CV – all while getting paid. They’re a great way for you to learn and improve your skills and with over 640 apprenticeship standards available, there is something suitable for every role.
Graduates
Our Graduate Scheme provides a unique opportunity for you to get a comprehensive understanding and experience of working in the Council. Over two years you’ll take part in 4 placements with lots of opportunities to develop and learn, as well as get accredited qualifications. You’ll develop skills, knowledge and experience in different departments and teams, and equip yourself with the experience and support to become a future leader.
